Non-binary Fil-Am weekend warrior birder. Born in Manila, raised in Los Angeles and Phoenix, then resident in Hiroshima, Kona, and Orlando, before settling in Austin. Into birds since my spark bird - Steller's Jay - at Yosemite in 1986. B.A. in East Asian Languages-Japanese from Arizona State University (2008). Christmas Bird Count volunteer since 2004 and eBird volunteer hotspot reviewer for 11 countries. Weekday job: volunteer coordinator for Meals on Wheels Central Texas.
